Descendant of a Heroine.

Today was Melchora Aquino aka Tandang Sora's Bicentennial Birthday Celebration. And as a direct descendant (yes. you've read it right. DESCENDANT. :D), we've got VIP treatments to this event.

What I love about my look is that it's not that planned (bought the top with Jacky from For Me Trinoma the night before! XD) at all. :)) But one thing's for sure, when in need of a FILIPINIANA dress, always run-sack... MOM's CLOSET! :))
There, I found a patadyong or an abaca shawl, a skirt (which the details near its Hem, i Love!) and her brooch, and voila! Filipiniana na ang peg! Plus! my shoes matched perfectly- ala Bakya style (Slipper clogs.)

Abaca Shawl: Mom's | Sheer skirt: Mom's | Brooch: Mom's | Sequined top: For Me | Chunky Heels: Jellybean | Clutch: Gift | Watch: Unisilver

Face: Olay Total Effects, Missha, Avon, Tony Moly| Eyes: 120 Pallete, Maybelline Gel Liner | Cheeks: NYX Cream blush in Orange | Lips: Carmex, Lime Crime Retrofuturist (lightly applied)

The event started at 8am at the Quezon City Hall (but we have to be there by 6am.) followed by a mass. My dad then gave his Acknowledgement speech. Among the VIP guests there are President, Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III, Speaker of the House, Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr., Secretary of  DepEd, Bro. Armin Luistro (also known to me as my Boss. haha.), QC Mayor, Herbert Bautista, & Vice Mayor and Chairperson of the Tandang Sora Association, Josefina "Joy" Belmonte.

With District II Councilor (and Actor), Alfred Vargas.

with Ms. Joy Belmonte, whom I find to be very warm and charming. Can i vote for her for the Miss Congeniality award? :D

Le Familia with Mayor Herbert Bautista.

A truly awesome event to jump-start my 2012. :D
Happy Birthday 200th Granny!

To not Fit in. To be Psychedelic. To be Eccentric. To be Bold. To be Practical. To be Humble. To be Kind. To Encourage Others. To Stand Up for What is Right. To be YOU. Now that's being a KIKAY and that's REAL BEAUTY.
